CLASSIC PAINTINGS
& Modern Adventures

Fine oil paintings from the East African studio of Paul Augustinus depicting scenes from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America with a bias towards subject matter depicting wildlife, especially with large sweeping landscapes of Northern Botswana, Namibia, and the rain forests of Congo and Gabon. The oeuvre of this artist also includes Orientalist styled scenes of the Kenyan Swahili Coast and Zanzibar, as well as classic bird paintings. His own extensive experience in the Sal forests of central India, red deer country in Spain and Scotland, as well as the tundra and mountains of Alaska, have also provided inspiration for many of this artist's paintings.

Congo Video

This documentary made by Paul Augustinus of his 1996 Congo Brazzaville foot safari to the Ndoki rain forest wilderness to get material for, and make paintings of, bongo, lowland gorillas, red river hogs, forest elephant and buffalo, is an example of the lengths to which this artist will go to extend his genuine artistic bona fide. A gritty depiction of a long foot-safari to the very heart of Africa's last remaining wilderness - this video is not for squeamish or sensitive viewers.
